Olweus Kick-Off Week Activity Schedule
Olweus Bullying Prevention Program Kick-Off Week is scheduled for September 15th – 19th. The Olweus program is a school-wide program that is effective at reducing bullying in a school if implemented with fidelity. It was designed to improve peer relations and make schools a safer, more positive place for students to learn and develop.
Each morning will begin with a motivational video or song during morning announcement.
Monday: “Preventing Bullying is No Sweat” – Wear your sweats.
Tuesday: “Be a Good Sport and Kick It to Bullying” – Wear your favorite sports clothes.
We will also be having Brothers Diversity perform for our students during the afternoon. The following schedule will be used:
12:30 – 1:30: Yellow, Blue, and Orange Teams
1:45 – 2:45: Purple, Green, and Red Teams
Wednesday: “Bullying is not in my ‘Genes’” – Wear Jeans
Thursday – “It’s OK to Be Unique” – Wear a Crazy Outfit to show how unique you can be.
Friday: Ending on a Positive Note and Team Building Day – The students will write positive notes on post-it notes to one another. The classes will split up for team building exercises to work on perseverance, following rules, and social development.
