About Me:

I was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  Aside from growing up there, I spent the later half of my childhood in Osyka, Mississippi.  I joined the US Army in 1990 and met my husband at Ft. Drum, NY, where he was also a soldier.

I've lived in West Virginia for 22 years now.

I have been teaching in Berkeley County Schools for 13 years.

Favorites:
   Color - Life Green
Food - Sushi & Chocolate (that qualifies, right?)
Music - Country (for now...it changes with my mood)
   Hobbies - Reading & Thrift-Store Shopping
   Movie - Shallow Hal
   Poet - Maya Angelou

What did I want to be when I was little?
I had two things I wanted to be when I was very young:  Cinderella & Miss America.

What did I do growing up that got me into trouble?
I put a big wad of Bubble Yum Chewing Gum into my younger sister's hair.   I don't remember how Mom got the gum out of her hair, but let's just say that I never did that again!

Life advice:
"Remember Who You Are".  Not as a means to think one is superior to anyone else, but as a means to remind one's self that actions and words will always demonstrate to others who they are.  The choices we make now affect our future.

Favorite Quote:
“Living with integrity means: Not settling for less than what you know you deserve in your relationships. Asking for what you want and need from others. Speaking your truth, even though it might create conflict or tension. Behaving in ways that are in harmony with your personal values. Making choices based on what you believe, and not what others believe.”
