    Hi! I'm Mrs. Poe, and I am the 6th & 7th grade counselor at North Middle! I was born and raised in Jefferson County. I received my Bachelors of Social Work from Concord University, and my Masters of Arts in School Counseling from Marshall University. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our two cats, family and friends! I’m excited to work with students, teachers, the administration team, and parents to help support our students to achieve educational success.

    I am the school counselor for 7th and 8th grade students at North Middle School this year. I am from Jefferson County and a graduate of West Virginia University and Marshall University. I love iced coffee, traveling to new places, being outdoors, and spending time with my friends, family, and rescue dog. I believe in teamwork and I am very excited to be a part of your team to help you succeed in school.

    Welcome! I’m Mrs. Kocik, the school social worker for North Middle School! I received my Bachelor of Psychology from the University of Maine at Orono, my Master of Social Work from West Virginia University, and currently working on my Ph.D. in Psychology from Fielding Graduate University. I have four wonderful children, two who graduated from high school, one who is a sophomore, and one who is in fifth grade. I enjoy reading, traveling, hiking, kayaking, and trying new things. I look forward to getting to know you and your students this year.

    Hi!  I am Mr. Sarina, the site coordinator for Communities in Schools here at North Middle School.  I provide supports through community services for designated students.  I have a degree in Human Services and have served in the United States Marine Corps.  I ammarried with two children, an 8 year old son, and a 4 year old daughter.  With any free time I might have I enjoy exercising and being outside.

    The school counseling program at Martinsburg North Middle is designed to provide a safe, supportive atmosphere where students can attain personal/social, academic and career success through a collaborative partnership with other educators, families, and the community.

    We work hand in hand to nurture the physical, emotional, and intellectual dimensions that enhance life-long learning and foster a positive self-esteem that leads to becoming productive members of our community. 

    Vision Statement

    Martinsburg North Middle students will acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to maximize their full potential and successfully reach their full potential while managing their lives as healthy, responsible, competent, and productive citizens.

    The School Counseling program focuses on the West Virginia Student Success Standards. Students will learn how to increase interpersonal and social skills, refine learning and work.
