Mrs. Banks / TIS and SYSOP

I starting teaching in Berkeley County in 1987. My first 16 years of teaching were here, instructing 6th and 7th graders in math and a few reading classes.  When Orchard View opened, I left to teach 4th grade and went through the training to become a State Certified Technology Integration Specialist in 2008.  In 2011, I continued down grade levels to become a Technology Educator and SYSOP at the new SMP “Green School.”  I am very happy to be starting my fifth year back at HMS where I started!

I am originally from Phoenixville, Pennsylvania.  I grew up riding my bike through Valley Forge Park, doing a lot of shopping at King of Prussia Mall.  After moving to WV many years ago, I'm now calling myself a West Virginian.  Go Mountaineers!  I still love riding my bike along the C&O Canal and shopping.  I also enjoy gardening, cooking, kayaking, and skiing.

At home, I have a husband named Andrew, two sons, and a toy poodle named Jax.  My youngest, Harrison is starting his junior year at WVU in the mechanical engineering program.  Colin just graduated from WVU this past summer with a B.S. degree in multisubjects.  I am also an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where I participate in many church events, along with my family.
