Enrolling a New Student

    Kindergarten Enrollment

    To enroll in Kindergarten for 2017-2018, a child must be five prior to September 1, 2017:

    1. A child who will be five years of age prior to September 1, 2017 will be enrolled in kindergarten.

    2. A child who will be six years of age prior to September 1, 2017 must be enrolled in school; will be enrolled in first grade if the child has completed an accredited kindergarten program; and will be enrolled in kindergarten if an accredited kindergarten program has not been completed.

    NOTE: Kindergarten students presently attending Berkeley County schools need not re-enroll for first grade.

    Registration Documents required by schools:

     

    • Certified Birth Certificate
      - Hospital or County Birth Certificates are not acceptable.
      - Certified Birth Certificates must be obtained from your State’s Office of Vital Statistics.

    • Immunization Requirements:
    • As of May 25, 2015, Tuberculin Skin testing (PPD) is no longer required for students entering from out of state.  However, students entering from a country with high risk will be required to complete a PPD.  Please click here for a list of those countries recommended by the Berkeley County Health Dept for which a PPD test will be required before attending school.
    • Name and Address of your child’s last school.
    • Proof of residency in Berkeley County.
    • Required Health Check for Pre-K -get the form 
    • Suggested Health Check for Kindergarten -get the form

    All completed enrollment documentation is to be returned to the school site your child will attend to complete the registration and enrollment process.
