Berkeley County Schools Scholarship Pageant

  • Proceeds benefit the $2,400 R. S. Dispanet Memorial Scholarship established by the Berkeley County Council PTA in 1972. This scholarship is awarded annually to a senior graduating from a Berkeley County high school.

    • Contestants cannot hold another county title, must not have married, given birth, or be pregnant before or during reign
    • Previous queens may not compete again in the same division
    • No talent performance is required

    • Students are judged by well qualified judges from out of the area on stage presence, personality, poise and appropriate appearance
    • Judging for the Little Miss, Junior Miss and Miss also includes academic achievement, school activities, community service, leadership, and interview

    • Past projects include food collection for Shenandoah Women’s Shelter for abused women and children, toys for needy children, dressed Salvation Army bears for children at Christmas, clothing collection for Berkeley County Council PTA Clothing Room

    Star of Tomorrow: Contestants participating 3 or more years with enthusiasm, congeniality, cooperation, sportsmanship, sincerity, and school pride (engraved medal)

    Twinkling Star:  Little Miss - Best overall excellence in academics, leadership, school activities, community service (plaque)

    Rising Star:  Junior Miss - Best overall excellence in academics, leadership, school activities, community service (plaque)

    Shining Star:  Miss – Best overall excellence in academics, leadership, school activities, community service ($250 scholarship and plaque)

    Interview:  Junior Miss – Best judge’s interview (plaque) Miss – Best judge’s interview ($250 scholarship and plaque)
