SPRING MILLS HIGH SCHOOL
ENGLISH HONORS 10 SUMMER PROJECT
Yes, it is summer break, but that does not mean learning is on a break. We, as humans, never stop learning. The skill you should focus on is recognizing what you learn and how it affects you.
This summer should be one of discovery. As you become involved in your summer routine (sports conditioning, camp, vacations, outdoor activities, etc.), you will need to reflect on five things you learn.
You will compile your learning experiences into a presentation to be shared with your class on the second day of school (August 20).
Your project can be done as a technology presentation. Formats that would be suggested would be: Powerpoint, Movie Maker, Animoto, Glogster, or Prezi.
*If you do not have access to technology, it is certainly acceptable to use a poster board.*
The information that will be required on your final project is:
five things that you have learned
images that add to the experiences (personal pictures will receive a higher score)
information about how, where, and when you learned the information
how the information affected you ( at least five complete sentences per experience)
*the items you include cannot be facts you obtain from simply doing an internet search*
-A scoring rubric is included to make sure you have a guide to achieve the highest score possible.
-An example of Powerpoint slides is included to give you a model of what is expected.
-Remember this will be your first grade, so make sure you do your best!
If you have any further questions, please email: junger@k12.wv.us
Have a great summer of learning,
Ms.Unger
