The Eagle School Percussion Ensemble is a performing ensemble. The group meets once a week to rehearse and learn music and percussion technique together. Goals of the percussion ensemble program allow students to develop musicianship by learning to work together as a performer in an ensemble, developing motor skills for percussion technique, creating interactive and conversational percussion music.
Instruments used in percussion ensemble include: drums, keyboard percussion, found percussion(buckets, pots, pencils, cans), and body percussion(e.g. clapping, stomping)
Recommended materials(for practice at home):
A drum practice pad
A pair of drum sticks
Students are expected to attend every rehearsal on time. Students who have three unexcused absences in a row, five total absences, or arrive late to seven rehearsals will be removed as a member of the percussion ensemble
