Mrs. Elizabeth Kantor-Bright
My name is Elizabeth Kantor-Bright. I am the 9th grade school counselor at Spring Mills High School. I obtained a Masters in Counseling from West Virginia University. I have been a school counselor for many, many years and retired in 2014. However, I missed working with students so much that I now substitute at different schools in Berkeley. This year, I get to work at SMHS!! I love helping young adults realize their greatness!!
When I am not working at SMHS, I help families who are homeless and supervise individuals who want to become licensed professional counselors. I also play with my 5 grandchildren, do jigsaw puzzles, garden, read books, travel, and just enjoy life.

Mrs. Taylor Lyons
Hello! My name is Mrs. Lyons, and I am a new counselor at Spring Mills High School. I am originally from Parkersburg, West Virginia, and I am new to this area; therefore, my GPS has become my best friend. I look forward to spreading my wings and becoming a cardinal.
I graduated from Fairmont State University with a B.S in Psychology and a B.S in Sociology. I look forward to using my knowledge and organizational skills to help the students succeed.
In my spare time, I like to paint, read, and video chat with my family. So far, I have enjoyed meeting all the new students, and I look forward to guiding them throughout the years. I am eager to work with the Class of 2025. Overall, I am excited to be a part of the Spring Mills High School Counseling Team!

Ms. Jayla Crane
Howdy! I am Ms. Crane and I am happy to be returning for my sixth year at Spring Mills High School. I am a West Virginia native and graduated from Fairmont Senior High School in Marion County. While I will always be a Polar Bear, I am excited to be at SMHS!
I graduated from West Virginia University with a B.S. in Sport and Exercise Psychology and the University of Virginia with my M.Ed. in School Counseling. I am also a National Board Certified Counselor (NCC). I am still new-ish to Berkeley County and look forward to exploring the area a bit more this year. In my spare time I enjoy watching sporting events, reading, quilting, and streaming British TV shows. If you miss me during the school day, you can find me at most Cardinal extracurricular activities - I love watching our students display their hard work!
I love being part of the team in Cardinal Country and enjoy working with our students as they grow into the people they want to be. One of my favorite parts of being a counselor is learning about my students and the goals they have for themselves. I am excited to keep learning about you all and helping guide you down whatever path you choose for yourselves. Your futures are bright and the possibilities are endless!
Go Cardinals!

Mr. Ben Davis
My name is Mr. Davis and I am heading into my 10th year at Spring Mills High School, working with the Class of 2023. I graduated from Eastern Mennonite University with a degree in Psychology and later earned my MA from LaSalle University in Clinical Counseling Psychology. I spent my first few years working in the community mental health field before entering school counseling.
I enjoy spending time with my wife and my two sons who are entering middle school. When I am not spending time with my boys and their activities, I am trying to fit in a short run, reading or serving at my church and local community. We all enjoy spending time with friends and traveling. Recently, my family was able to spend a year teaching abroad in Prague, Czech Republic. It was a lot of fun for all of us, especially having our boys experience a new culture.
I have enjoyed working at Spring Mills High School, being able to meet students with so many different stories. It is a privilege and a pleasure to speak with our students about their interests, goals and challenges in life. I am looking forward to an awesome 2022-2023 school year!
