Below are options for high school students who want to earn college credit while in high school.
Please note: There is NO federal financial aid available for high school students.

Berkeley County Schools has joined with BRCTC to create dual enrollment options for high school students. Seniors will have access to the Berkeley County Scholars program, the JumpStart program, and will be able to pick individual classes as it fits their dual enrollment goals.
The following JumpStart programs will be available to high school seniors school year 2022-2023:
Agribusiness (26 credits)
Applied Laboratory Technician (29 credits)
Business Administration (26 credits)
Culinary Arts (27 credits)
Cyber Security (30 credits)
Digital Media Studies (30 credits)
Early Childhood Specialist (30 credits)
Education (27 credits)
Electric Distribution Engineering Technology (26 credits)
General Studies (26 credits)
Health Care Professionals (26 credits)
Information Technology (30 credits)
Mechatronics and Engineering Technology (29 credits)
Software Development (30 credits)
The following Berkeley County Scholars program (12 credits) courses are available to high school seniors:

WVU High School Access
West Virginia University offers qualified high school students the opportunity to enroll in college courses at a reduced rate through the ACCESS WVU Early College Program. ACCESS courses are academically challenging college courses. To qualify, you should be a high school junior or senior, have a GPA of at least 3.0 or above, and have qualifying test scores for certain courses. Courses are available completely online - 24/7, anywhere you have access to high speed internet, on campus at WVU Potomac State College, and at the Martinsburg Center. The program also provides a strong support network of university professors and student success coaches to advise and guide students in this initial step toward college success.

Shepherd University
Shepherd University has partnered with Berkeley County Schools to allow students to be enrolled in both high school and college at the same time receiving both high school and, college credit. Classes are offered to high school juniors and seniors. There are minimum GPA and ACT/SAT score requirements in order to take English and Math. The courses are taught on the Shepherd campus in Shepherdstown, online, and at the Martinsburg Center.
$84 per credit hour
($252 per 3-credit course)
