    Official registration for the 2022 Congressional App Challenge is now open!

    Students can register for the 2022 Congressional App Challenge and start coding their apps for 2022 using the link below. The competition deadline is November 1st, 2022. Good luck!

  • Interested in Fairmont State University?

    Attached is a save the date flyer for our Fairmont State's SOAR award events. These are hosted “free” across the state of West Virginia and provide further scholarship opportunity for our students. Please sign up and attend for an opportunity to receive a $2000 total scholarship. We will have representation from Admissions, Housing, Financial Aid, and Academic Departments. Students can apply on the spot, get questions answered, eat some great food, and meet the President of our University. Hundreds of students across the state have attended the events and we’ve been able to assist them with the overall Admissions process!  Our local event will be at Musselman High School:

    West Virginia University, in cooperation with the West Virginia Department of Education, will be sponsoring a Mandarin Chinese STARTALK experience for students who will be in Grades 9-11 during the 2022-2023 academic year. The STARTALK experience is free to students and all STARTALK camps are funded by the United States National Security Agency and are offered in languages that the United States government deems critical to the national and economic security of our own country.   • Juniors- BigFuture Scholarships

    All juniors: Make yourself eligible for $500 and $40,000 scholarships each month. Earn entries in monthly drawings for scholarships by completing steps to plan for college. The sooner you start and the more steps you complete, the more chances you’ll have to win. This month’s entries will continue to be included in upcoming monthly drawings.     TRIO- Upward Bound program- Shepherd University: provides services that help first-generation and/or income eligible high school students gain the academic skills, personal support, and cultural exposure that will lead to high school graduation, post-secondary enrollment and completion, and a love for lifelong learning. 


    Do you participate in the Backpack program?

    Students who participate in the Backpack program may go to guidance to pick up their bags from Ms. Hersh.  Bags are delivered to the school each Thursday.

    If you do not currently participate in the backpack program but would like to, please email Ms. Hersh at betty.carpenterhersh@k12.wv.us or your school counselor.
