The Berkeley County Board of Education is pursuing a search to identify the next Superintendent of Schools for Berkeley County. Here's what you need to know.

February 20, 2023

The Berkeley County Board of Education heard an update on advertisements that have been placed in newspapers, online, education job boards, and email lists. Ads have been placed in West Virginia and six surrounding states. Applications are due Friday, March 3, 2023 to the superintendent search facilitator.

February 6, 2023

The Berkeley County Board of Education moved to approve a contract for Howard M. O'Cull, Ed.D as superintendent search facilitator. 

The board also approved the notice of position availability. Superintendent search process to begin February 7, 2023  

January 23, 2023

Regular Board of Education (BOE) Meeting, January 23, 2023: The Berkeley County Board of Education passed the following three motions relative to conducting a search for a superintendent of schools for a term to be effective July 1, 2023.  

1. The Berkeley County BOE initiate a Superintendent search for a county Superintendent for a 1-4 year term commencing July 1, 2023.
2. The Board President appoint a BOE member to recommend a path for the scope of the search subject to the Boards approval and work with the Human Resource Department, specifically Dr. Justin Schooley and the Communications Department, specifically, Elaine Bobo.
3. Request that Dr. Howard O’Cull, submit a proposal for his services upon the completion of motion #2 and that his proposed contract be included.
