• Spring Mills Primary is excited to announce they will be working with the Trex Company to collect and recycle Plastic Film. The Trex Company is the country’s largest manufacturer of wood-alternative decking and railing products.  It is headquartered in Winchester, VA with two manufacturing plants – Winchester, VA and Fernley, NV.  Trex decking boards are made of 95% recycled content – recycled plastic film and waste wood shaving.  These raw materials come from recovered plastic grocery bag, plastic film and waste wood fiber from hardwood flooring and cabinet manufacturers.

How can you help? Starting October 10, we will be collecting plastic film at school. There will be collection bins located in the front lobby and cafeteria. You may drop off your clean, dry plastic film there. Schools in this program will receive a participation award made from Trex decking boards. We encourage everyone to participate!
