Berkeley County has purchased e-books for K-12 students and teachers. They can be read on school and home computers. The Follett Destiny Discover app can also be downloaded to devices. 

 How to Check Out e-Books

To check out e-books, click on Follett Shelf at the left of this page. When destiny discover opens, click on the three lines in the upper left hand corner to reveal the login link. Students login the same way they login to Schoology or a computer. Teachers can contact Mr. Cathey to receive a username and password. Once you have logged in, you can read and check out books.

When you select a book title, you can click the checkout button next to the picture of the cover. If you want to read some of the book before checking it out, just click the button that says open. If you then decide you want to check the book out, click anywhere on the book page to make a menu appear in the upper right corner.  The first icon in the list looks like an open book with a checkmark in it. Click on it and it will give you the option to check out the book. The third button in that menu allows you to bookmark your place in the book.

Clicking anywhere on the page of a book also opens a close book button at the top left of the page. Clicking destiny discover in the upper left corner will re-open the homepage. Clicking on the three lines in the upper left also allows users to view items checked out. If finished please return a book so it becomes available to someone else.
