Mrs. Christine L. Mills
I teach various classes in Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) including, Foundations of Culinary Arts and Restaurant Management, Food Preparation, Nutrition and Foods Advanced, Food Science, and Baking & Pastry. Before teaching at Spring Mills High School I taught career and technical education for 5 years. I hold certifications in teaching and ServSafe sanitation and a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from Shepherd University.
Learning activities in our FACS classroom are grounded in hands-on learning experiences and are demonstrated by the Simulated Workplace environment where we apply professional level protocols and skills in our student run Cardinal Catering Company. Students completing the Baking and Pastry Program have the opportunity to learn not only necessary skills for employment as a pastry cook, baker, pastry chef, small business owner and many others but, also have the opportunity to complete nationally and industry recognized certification exams.
You will find me energentic and enthusiastic about my subject matter and passionate about working with students.
