    Hello! My name is Ms. Hott and I am so excited to get to know you all! This will be my fourth year at Potomack Intermediate and as a School Counselor. I received my Bachelors in Psychology with a Minor in Child Development and Family Studies from West Virginia University and received my Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis in School Counseling from West Virginia University.

    I will be working with all 5th-grade students and the 3rd-grade green team. Please still feel free to reach out to me as I am open to working with everyone here at Potomack!

    Fun Fact: I was in the West Virginia University Marching Band, the “Pride”, for three years during my undergraduate career. Go Mountaineers!

    Hello! My name is Mr. Malcolm. I am excited about starting this year and getting to know all of you. This will be my third year at Potomack Intermediate and my second year as a school counselor. I received my Bachelors in Conflict Analysis and Dispute Resolution from Salisbury University. I received my Masters of Education in School Counseling from Frostburg State University.

    I will be working with all 4th grade students and the 3rd grade blue team. If you are not a part of those teams, please still feel free to reach out to me. I am open to working with everyone here at Potomack.

    Fun Fact:  I played rugby for four years while attending Salisbury University.

    Hey there! My name is Ms. Miranda. I am excited about starting this year and getting to know all of you! This will be my second year at Potomack Intermediate. I am finishing my Masters of Education in School Counseling through Frostburg State University. I will be working at Potomack part-time alongside Ms. Hott and Mr. Malcolm. 

    Fun Fact:  I played soccer in college at St. Andrews University!

    The school counseling program at Potomack Intermediate is designed to provide a safe, supportive atmosphere where students can attain personal/social, academic and career success through a collaborative partnership with other educators, families, and the community.

    We work hand in hand to nurture the physical, emotional, and intellectual dimensions that enhance life-long learning and foster a positive self-esteem that leads to becoming productive members of our community. 

    Vision Statement

    Potomack Intermediate students will acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to maximize their full potential and successfully reach their full potential while managing their lives as healthy, responsible, competent, and productive citizens.

    The School Counseling program focuses on the West Virginia Student Success Standards. Students will learn how to increase interpersonal and social skills, refine learning and work.
