• SMMS Local School Improvement Council

    Dear Parents,

Recently, West Virginia state legislature created a mandate for our Local School Improvement Council (LSIC) requiring an elected body of educational stakeholders in each school. The purpose of LSIC is to foster collaboration between parents, school staff, and students to promote the educational goals of the school. The council will meet a minimum of four times during the school year. For this current school year, I am the elected chairperson. Mrs. Catlett and Mrs. Starliper (teachers), Mrs. Everhart (secretary), and Leigh Redhead (bus driver) are also LSIC members for the 2019-2020 school year. At this time, we need three parent representatives that would have voting rights as well. The meeting for the parent election will be on November 4th at 6:00 in the SMMS library. Please let me know if you would be interested in helping us to fill the last of our positions. Thank you, Karen Greenfield LSIC Chairperson SMMS Librarian
