Bunker Hill Elementary Engagement Policy
The faculty and staff at Bunker Hill Elementary are devoted to helping all students succeed. In addition to the faculty and staff, positive parent involvement is essential to student achievement. We realize that parent involvement happens in many different ways due to the varying lifestyles of our students’ families. This is one of the reasons our school offers many different opportunities for parents to partake in our students’ educations. Bunker Hill Elementary faculty and staff are dedicated to pursuing the following objectives to support the needs of our families.
Goals for Parent Involvement
• Involve and instruct parents in the 40 Developmental Assets so that together we can provide positive experiences and qualities that influence young people's development, helping them become caring, responsible, and productive adults.
• Include and educate parents in the teaching strategies being used in our classrooms.
• Have on-going significant communication between parents and the school.
• Offer numerous opportunities for parents to be involved in their child(ren)’s learning.
• Inform the parents about and utilize community resources to boost family and student success.
• Welcome parents into our school by encouraging them to volunteer (such as being involved in PTA or PASS).
• Encourage and acknowledge parents in their roles as the child’s first and most important teachers.
• Provide support for all families
