Family & Student FAQs

Reopening Plans

  • 8/07/20: What is the maximum size of classrooms? Is this based on physical room size or is there going to be a maximum per child limit?

  • 8/07/20: How will social distancing be maintained in classrooms with the entire in-person cohort attending school every day?

  • 8/07/20: If very few students choose the “click” option how will social distancing be managed in the classroom?

Academics

  • 8/07/20: Will teachers be expected to manage both online and face-to-face teaching?

  • 8/07/20: Will science labs, and other similar labs, be possible in the brick setting?

  • 8/07/20: In highly specialized classes where there is only one teacher per building, such as Advanced Placement or Dual Enrollment subjects, if part of the student population chooses brick and part of the student population chooses click, how will that teacher teach both? Many of these specialized classes require training or other pre-requisites to be able to teach them.

  • 8/05/20: Will school, county, regional and state events such as social studies and science fairs still be held?

  • 8/05/20: Will there be any group projects or group discussions during class time?

  • 7/31/20: Will online instruction (CLICK) be the same as the in-person instruction (BRICK)?

  • 7/31/20: I understand students will be provided with computer devices for virtual learning, but will textbooks and workbooks be provided for students or will those be provided through online versions?

  • 7/31/20: I have heard there are two options for CLICK learning, either through the state or the county. What is the difference between these programs?

  • 7/31/20: Will AP (Advance Placement) and honors courses be offered at the same caliber for students who choose the CLICK option?

Athletics

  • If I choose Click learning, can my student participate in school athletics?

Safety

  • 8/07/20: What is the anticipated response rate for the daily health screening survey?

  • 8/07/20: The plan indicates that students will not have their temperature taken until they arrive at school. How does this protect the bus driver and other students on the bus if they are found to have a fever after getting to school? They have now exposed every person on that bus. Why are temperatures not being taken before boarding the bus?

  • 8/05/20: What happens if a student or teacher in their core class tests positive? Does this mean that everyone in this class will need a 14 day quarantine?

  • 8/05/20: Will students participate in physical education class where the students will be allowed to be active? Is there going to be recess where the children will be allowed to be active?

  • 8/05/20: Are middle and high schoolers switching classes or are they going to be in 1 classroom all day?

  • 8/05/20: What will happen if students refuse to wear a mask or sanitize their hands before entering a classroom?

  • 8/05/20: How does the school district plan to handle the contact tracing of expected or suspected exposure to a person with Covid-19?

  • 8/05/20: The language on the BCS website indicates when students are outside of their core groups masks will be required. What does this mean and how does it allow for students to not wear a mask around vulnerable members of the school population?

  • 8/05/20: Will there be any group projects or group discussions during class time?

  • 8/05/20: Will the children be able to talk to or socialize with their friends at all?

  • 8/05/20: Will students be required to wear a mask the entire time they are in the school building?

  • 8/05/20: Will the children remain in the same class with the same students all day and the teachers rotate?

Nutrition

  • 7/31/20: How will students each lunch while being required to wear a face covering and be socially distant?

  • 7/31/20: If meals will be served to students in their classroom, will they have the option of receiving hot meals?

  • Has the BCS Curbside Meal Summer Feeding Program been extended due to the new school start date?

Communications

Safety
