Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Amanda Stevens - Principal
I am currently entering my 22nd year as an educator in Berkeley County Schools. I have taught Pre-K and then 4th grade for a total of 10 years. I served as the Assistant Principal of Potomack Intermediate for 7 years before coming to Marlowe in 2011.
My education includes:
- BA in Elementary Education from Shepherd College.
- MA in Educational Leadership from West Virginia University.
- Currently pursuing my doctorate in Educational Leadership from Liberty University.
I am a native West Virginian, growing up on the family farm in Hampshire County where my parents still live, and I now live in Inwood with my husband Glenn and our family pet Dusty. Our daughters currently attend WVU where Anna is a senior, and Kaitie is a sophomore.
One of my favorite quotes from Vince Lombardi sums up my philosophy as an administrator: “When you are satisfied as a player, we are through as a team.” When I am no longer putting my best effort into educating our children, then it is time for me to find a new line of work. Our children are our greatest asset, and they deserve nothing but the best from all of us. They are our greatest joy, and I love every minute I spend with them at Marlowe.
