In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, what is the plan for reopening Berkeley County Schools for 2020 - 21 school year?
Since we transitioned to remote learning in March, we have worked to balance health precautions with the educational and support needs of our students. Every week, we learn more from our health experts about the COVID-19 virus.
No matter the plan in place for the school year, SCHOOL IS IN SESSION with Berkeley County Schools . We are planning for 5 days of instruction. How that looks is something that we are working toward. This plan, beginning September 8, will deliver 180 days of instruction and learning.
We know learning will look different and we are preparing for all possibilities - both click and brick.
Knowing that the situation may continue to evolve, BCS has worked on alternate plans in case there are spikes of COVID-19 that would require us to make adjustments to learning environments. We will continue following all health department requirements for how to handle any confirmed cases of COVID-19 in our schools.
Thank you for your patience and understanding in helping us build a plan that prioritizes safety and is responsive to the needs of our community. We will continue to update our Back to School website and the FAQ below as our Advance Team commitees finalize details.
