The Berkeley County Schools Instructional Improvement Grant fund awarded classroom grants totaling $39,952.98 to 121 Berkeley County Schools educators. Over 200 grant applications were submitted and were carefully evaluated and awarded by a committee of nine experienced colleagues. The Berkeley County Schools Board of Education approves this budget expenditure annually in support of our teachers and students.
"For over fifteen years, these grants have been awarded to innovative, outside the box programs that stretch instruction beyond the typical classroom experience", said Don Dellinger, Deputy Superintendent of Instruction for Berkeley County Schools. Dellinger , who has administered the Instructional Improvement Grant program for eight years has witnessed extraordinary growth in both the number and quality of submissions. "Every year the selection process gets tougher. Our educators propose such outstanding ideas for challenging their students in the classroom. The committee looks forward to seeing these grants in action".
