The Board of Education announced a Special Call Meeting to hear discussion regarding filling the Superintendent of Schools position, to include the possible approval of a process for the selection of a superintendent of schools for a term to commence on July 1, 2019.

Upon return to Open Session, the Board spoke via telephone with Dr. Howard O’Cull, Executive Director of the West Virginia School Board Associate to answer any questions and provide information about what the WVSBA could do to assist with the search. The Board will then make a decision about the direction in which to proceed and firm they may use. Discussion followed.

Mr. Murphy moved and Ms. Barnes-Russell seconded to elect to use a search company to assist in preforming a national search for the next superintendent of Berkeley County Schools, term commencing July 1, 2019.  Motion carried unanimously.
