On Wednesday, November 12th, multilingual families from Opequon Elementary and Eagle School Intermediate came together for a wonderful evening celebrating our school community’s diversity, language, and culture. The event kicked off with a bilingual storytelling of The Lizard and the Sun in both English and Spanish, followed by a fun “passport” activity where families traveled to different stations around the cafeteria to enjoy games, crafts, music, a photo booth, and more!

Parents also had opportunities to connect with Schoology, learn about adult education programs, and pick up Title I resources to support learning at home. A big thank-you goes out to Domino’s Pizza, King’s Pizza, Chick-fil-A, and Orr’s Farm Market for donating food, and to Tony M. Music for reading the story and creating the music station. A BIG THANK YOU to Ms. Styer and all the teachers who made this evening possible.

Events like this highlight the importance of the home–school connection, reminding us that when families and educators work together, students thrive both academically and personally. It was a beautiful night of learning, laughter, and community at ESI!
