Good afternoon Redhawks,
You may be aware that September is National School Attendance Month. While we want your student(s) at school on time, every day to get their best first instruction from their teacher, September is an opportunity for our school to shine as we challenge our fellow intermediate schools in Berkeley County to an attendance competition. We want Mountain Ridge Intermediate School to have the highest percentage of students in attendance this month as we get in the routine of school again, but also, we can have the principals of the other intermediate schools do something silly since their school did not have the highest attendance.
Join us in having your student(s) at school on time every day in September and let's see who has the very best intermediate attendance in Berkeley County! We will see everyone at school on time tomorrow!

I want to make you aware that our Assistant Principal, Ms. Tawny Ditto, resigned from Berkeley County Schools for personal reasons on Friday.
The district and Mountain Ridge Intermediate are working together to ensure we have appropriate coverage and will move as quickly as possible to identify a replacement. In the meantime, our dedicated staff will continue to support our students and families and provide the consistency and care they deserve.
We simply wanted to make sure our families were aware of this change. Thank you for your continued support of Mountain Ridge Intermediate.

Storm Update: Martinsburg High School Closed Tomorrow
We hope all of our families are safe following today’s storm and severe rainfall.
Our teams have checked all schools and worked to address any issues caused by the weather. Custodians are working this evening to clean up and prepare our schools to open tomorrow.
Unfortunately, Martinsburg High School has experienced significant water intrusion and will need additional time to clean and dry the affected areas. As a result, MaHS will be closed for students tomorrow, Friday, August 28. MaHS staff should report at 8:00 a.m.
Students who attend classes at JRTI, Shepherd University, or BRCTC may attend those classes at their own discretion. There will be no JROTC tomorrow.
Information regarding extracurricular and after-school activities will be communicated directly to students and families by Martinsburg High School.
Thank you for your understanding.

We are thrilled that our Mountain Ridge Primary School opened today, however this is our first day with the additional campus with buses. Our buses are running behind as they are picking up the primary students first then coming to Mountain Ridge Intermediate for our students.
We appreciate your grace as we get better each day with our buses moving from the primary to the intermediate school.
Make today great!
