I want to make you aware that our Assistant Principal, Ms. Tawny Ditto, resigned from Berkeley County Schools for personal reasons on Friday.
The district and Mountain Ridge Intermediate are working together to ensure we have appropriate coverage and will move as quickly as possible to identify a replacement. In the meantime, our dedicated staff will continue to support our students and families and provide the consistency and care they deserve.
We simply wanted to make sure our families were aware of this change. Thank you for your continued support of Mountain Ridge Intermediate.

Storm Update: Martinsburg High School Closed Tomorrow
We hope all of our families are safe following today’s storm and severe rainfall.
Our teams have checked all schools and worked to address any issues caused by the weather. Custodians are working this evening to clean up and prepare our schools to open tomorrow.
Unfortunately, Martinsburg High School has experienced significant water intrusion and will need additional time to clean and dry the affected areas. As a result, MaHS will be closed for students tomorrow, Friday, August 28. MaHS staff should report at 8:00 a.m.
Students who attend classes at JRTI, Shepherd University, or BRCTC may attend those classes at their own discretion. There will be no JROTC tomorrow.
Information regarding extracurricular and after-school activities will be communicated directly to students and families by Martinsburg High School.

We are thrilled that our Mountain Ridge Primary School opened today, however this is our first day with the additional campus with buses. Our buses are running behind as they are picking up the primary students first then coming to Mountain Ridge Intermediate for our students.
We appreciate your grace as we get better each day with our buses moving from the primary to the intermediate school.

We are excited to welcome our families this evening for our 2026 - 2027 Intermediate Orientation. We will open our doors at 5:00 PM, although our PTO will be outside connecting with our Redhawk community starting at 4:00 PM.
With that said, we ask that you park along the road and/or at the middle school, reserving the spaces in front of and next to the school by the playground for our staff so they may be inside at 5:00 ready to meet our families!

Please join us for our Orientation Night on Monday, August 17. The evening will begin with our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), hosting an outdoor event 4:00–7:00 PM outside the school, connecting our Redhawks and their families with valuable back-to-school resources and information.
Our Orientation will take place from 5:00–7:00 PM, giving families the opportunity to meet teachers, visit classrooms, and prepare for a successful start to the school year.
To help ensure a smooth event, we kindly ask that families leave the parking area behind the school (between the school and the playground) available for staff parking. We appreciate your cooperation and encourage visitors to use the remaining areas around and near the school.
