Raptor Alert Notification
Dear Families,
Today, SMMS was briefly placed in a lockdown after a staff alert badge was accidentally activated. Following protocol, staff immediately implemented lockdown procedures.
There was no threat to the safety of students or staff. Law enforcement was not dispatched, and normal school operations resumed shortly afterward.
We are reviewing our systems and practices to help prevent accidental activations in the future. We apologize for any concern this may have caused and appreciate your understanding as we continue working to strengthen our safety practices.

Berkeley County Schools (PreK–12) will operate on a two-hour delay on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, due to cold temperatures and the potential for freezing rain and icy road conditions.
