Have a Child Entering Pre-K in the Inwood Area?
During construction of the new Inwood Early Learning Academy, the Pre-K program will be temporarily housed at Gerrardstown Elementary School for the 2026–27 school year.
To better serve students and families and help reduce wait times during drop-off and pick-up at this temporary location, transportation hubs will be available for families enrolled in Pre-K at Inwood Early Learning Academy only.
Transportation will be provided from an Inwood-area hub, where students will ride in EPIC vans equipped with Pre-K-approved safety seats to and from Inwood Early Learning Academy each day. This option is intended to help families avoid congested traffic and long lines while also reducing driving distance.
Families interested in transportation should:
Enroll their child in Pre-K, and
Select Inwood Early Learning Academy as their first-choice site on the application.
Once enrollment information is received, a Pre-K representative will contact families who select Inwood Early Learning Academy as their first-choice site to discuss transportation needs.
WVU Medicine is sponsoring free sports physicals for all middle and high school students on June 2-4, 2026, at the WVU Health Sciences Center. Read our newsletter to learn more about the program.
Reminder: Today, May 12, is Election Day. The ballot includes a school bond call with projects focused on growth, capacity, safety, and workforce readiness. Voters are required to present a valid photo ID. Learn more about the 2026 Bond Call.
Let’s Finish Strong! 🚀
As we enter the final stretch of the school year, Berkeley County Schools is encouraging all students to stay focused and finish strong by making attendance a priority. These last few weeks are important for reinforcing what students have learned, celebrating academic growth, and preparing for the next chapter. Every day matters, and being present makes a difference.
Your student is an essential part of the classroom, and we appreciate you trusting us to guide and support them throughout the school year. Consistent attendance helps students stay engaged, connected, and ready to end the year successfully.
Let’s keep the momentum going, show up, and finish the year strong together! #FinishStrong #AttendanceMatters
