Martinsburg North Middle School students and staff have been busy this fall raising money and awareness for Relay for Life, and the school spirit has been incredible!
On November 1st, students, staff, and community members came together for a colorful and energetic Color Run to benefit Relay for Life. Participants ran through bursts of chalk color bombs, filling the air with laughter and bright clouds of support for a great cause. NMS was able to raise $550 with this event!
Earlier in October, students took part in a spirited Penny Wars competition. Homerooms earned points by donating silver change, while pennies were used to deduct points from other classes. It was all in good fun — and for a meaningful purpose! Student contributions raised over $700 with this competition! Congratulations to Mr. Bell’s 8th grade homeroom, who took the overall win with over 11,000 points and earned a pizza party! Ms. Updike’s 6th grade homeroom and Ms. Stover’s 7th grade homeroom also led their grade levels with outstanding participation.
The fundraising fun isn’t over yet! On November 21st, NMS will host a Volleyball Tournament during periods 1–4 to continue supporting Relay for Life. Teams of five can participate for $20 per team, while spectators can join the excitement for $4, or $10 if they’d like to enjoy a Chick-fil-A sandwich wwith their admission. The winning student team will face off against the teachers and staff in an epic afternoon showdown! Please turn in your money and team registration by FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 14th!

Through these events, North Middle is showing that when our Blue Devils come together, we can make a powerful difference.
