CARDINALS -- Here is the link for tonight's Commencement LIVESTREAM -- Streaming will begin at 6:30pm: https://www.youtube.com/live/mD6ICRQr5PM?si=o192vqyK1M1AhqIF
After consulting with the National Weather Service, we have determined that weather conditions are not expected to improve before the conclusion of the ceremony. Therefore, the decision has been made to move the ceremony indoors.
All seniors who have not yet picked up their tickets should stop by the school (front door) today between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to do so. Each senior will receive a total of 8 tickets:
• 4 gym tickets (ceremony will be here)
• 2 auditorium tickets (livestream viewing)
• 2 cafeteria tickets (livestream viewing)
If a senior is unable to pick up their tickets, a parent or guardian may do so on their behalf.
We understand this change may create concerns regarding the number of guests who can attend. Unfortunately, due to fire marshal regulations and seating capacity limitations, we are unable to provide more than 8 tickets per senior.
The ceremony will be live-streamed, and the viewing link will be shared after we meet with our live-streaming provider.
With the announcement of an outside graduation, there are some concerns that have been brought to our attention. While we are fully prepared and planning to be outside, please know that we do have a contingency plan if the weather doesn’t allow for an outside ceremony. If we have to move into the gym, we will send out information before 1:00pm tomorrow to update the families and community. At that time we would also announce arrangements for seniors who have not already done so to pick up their tickets -- 4 tickets for the gym to see the live ceremony, 2 auditorium tickets, and 2 cafeteria tickets (to watch the live stream from inside the building).
Just a reminder that tickets are only necessary if we must move the ceremony indoors. Stay tuned to SMHS Facebook Page and these messages for the most up-to-date graduation information!
