Berkeley County Schools has made the decision for students to keep their devices over the summer, encouraging students to utilize the Summer Learning Toolkit. 8th graders are welcome to keep their devices as well and will exchange their iPads for Chromebooks upon returning next school year at their districted high school. Devices will remain on the monitored filtering system, as they are during the school year, and inappropriate searches will notify County IT. Students and parents are responsible for county issued devices over the summer, continuing to adhere to the Acceptable Use Policy that was signed at the beginning of the year on file with the school.
If you wish to NOT keep your student’s device over the summer, please fill out this FORM by Friday 5/23. If you know you are moving out of the district, please fill out the form and turn the device in! For those opting out of keeping their devices over the summer, devices and chargers will be collected for the summer on May 28th & 29th.
