Library policies and procedures:  

Students have the right to borrow and use materials from the HMS library if they remain in good standing with all Berkeley County school libraries. Students may borrow one item from the school library for a period of two weeks. Any item that is lost will require that the student pay the replacement cost of the item. 

Library Links: 

HMS Library Online Catalog (PAC) - Your card number is your student ID number, and your PIN is the last four digits of your ID number. Use this site to place a hold on books and to check the status of your account.

WV INFO DEPOT - West Virginia eLibrary that you can access from any internet-connected device. Explore millions of magazine and newspaper articles, encyclopedias, eBooks, digital images, test preparation resources, scholarly journals, historical materials, and more. For access to this site, email Mrs. Sholl (ksholl@k12.wv.us)

• World Book Online - online encyclopedia

• Sora by Overdrive - This link will connect students to the public library e-book collection. In the Explore tab, select add a library, then 25427 to find Listen Eastern West Virginia. When asked for a library card number, enter your Microsoft school email through the Berkeley County Schools button. The beginning of your email is your Schoology login.

• Destiny Discover - These are text and audio books that you can read on or offline from the computer once downloaded to a device. Simply find your school to begin: once inside, you can search for books, eBooks, and other digital resources. Students will use their Schoology username and password to login to this site. Students are allowed to check out one eBook at a time unless the title has unlimited access. Unlimited use titles have the infinity symbol (∞).

Staff will need to email the school librarian for login information. 

All E-materials, Destiny Discover, EBSCO, SORA, and Tumblebooks are available to students 24 hours a day all year long. Students will never be restricted from using these resources because of overdue or lost books.
