History Club

Do you love history? Do you enjoy watching historical movies and documentaries? Join us to share your knowledge about history, and learn even more about your favorite topics, which may include guest speakers from time to time! Join the History Club to share your love for all things History-related with Dr. Rhonda McPherson every Tuesday from 2:35 p.m. - 4:35 p.m.

Homework Help

Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. in the library with Mrs. Jordan. You bring the assignment, Mrs Jordan brings the help! This activity starts October 7.

Yoga & Mindfulness

Activities include mindful breathing exercises, body awareness through gentle yoga poses, journaling, coloring, and focusing on the five senses. This provides tools for managing emotions, improving attention, and fostering overall well-being in a supportive environment. This club will meet Thursdays from 2:40 p.m. - 3:40 p.m. in the cafeteria.

History Club

Join Mr. Wilt in the Library on Mondays, beginning October 13, from 2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m., for help with all of your math questions.

Cooking & Baking Club

Do you love to cook meals or bake goodies? Join Mrs Hamill on Wednesdays from 2:45 p.m. - 3:45 p.m. and cook your heart out! Students in cooking club will learn to make new foods and get to enjoy them too! Baking club will meet in Mrs. Hamill’s room (Home Ec Room)

Pokémon Club

Do you have the need to catch them all? Then join this club! Whether you’re a fan of video games, card games, anime, or Pokémon Go, this club is for you. Trade, learn more about the lore, and have fun with others who love Pokémon. Space is limited to 20 students. Please sign up ASAP! Meeting every Thursday from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Mr. Clark’s room.

 

STARBASE 2.0

This program will focus on engaging STEM activities! There will be weekly Science Experiments and Engineering Challenges. Don't miss out on this year of STARBASE 2.0 fun with new activities and projects. This will take place during the 2nd semester on Thursdays from 2:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. in the library with Mrs. Sholl.

More information will be given to interested students in January.

Yearbook

Students selected for this club will be helping to create and design the 2025-2026 HMS yearbook. Students will need to be able to attend specific extracurricular events to take photographs. Yearbook will meet with Mrs Ruest on Wednesdays beginning in December from 2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Art Club

Students will have the ability to use supplies in the art room. Students can participate in activities that teach how to use supplies and implement different techniques. Art Club will meet Wednesdays from 2:45 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the art room.

Troubadors Show Choir

An elite choir that combines singing with elements of dance and design. Additional fees may apply for uniforms/props/etc.

This music ensemble is by audition only. Wed-Friday during 5th Period.

Handbell Ensemble

The HMS Handbell Ensemble is a musical ensemble consisting of 10 to 12 ringers. We begin rehearsals in October during 5th period on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, with some possible after-school rehearsals as well. We will perform two concerts (one in the winter and one in the spring) with the possibility of additional performances throughout the year.

Book Club

Do you love to read?! Join Mrs Starliper and Mrs Ruest on Tuesdays from 2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. in Mrs. Starliper’s room to read and discuss chapter books with fellow students who love to read too!

Student Council

Student Council members will act as representatives of Hedgesville Middle School by organizing and executing various activities and events within the school and community. Student Council will meet from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Mrs Brust’s room, every other Wednesday beginning Sept 10.
