This morning, Tomahawk Intermediate School briefly entered a Code Hold following a report of an individual walking along Route 9 with what appeared to be a weapon. During this time, buses were rerouted and held at a nearby location until the situation was investigated. Law enforcement has since given the all-clear, and buses have returned to the school to bring students inside. The School Safety Officer remains on-site.
Out of an abundance of caution, Tomahawk Intermediate, Hedgesville Elementary, Hedgesville Middle, and Hedgesville High went on a Code Secure due to activity in the area. At no time was there an immediate threat to the safety of students or staff at any of these schools.
Law enforcement has now given the ALL CLEAR for the entire area, and codes have been lifted at each school.
